Field Research Technician I / Field Research Technician II
Full-Time | Ord, Nebraska | Multiple Positions Available
Zangger Popcorn Hybrids is hiring multiple full-time Field Research Technicians to join our Research & Development team.
The Field Research Technician I position is intended for entry-level or developing candidates interested in building a career in agricultural research, plant breeding, seed production, or crop science.
The Field Research Technician II position is intended for experienced candidates who can work more independently, help coordinate daily research activities, and provide practical guidance to seasonal or part-time employees.
Placement at the Technician I or Technician II level will be based on education, relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and overall qualifications.
Our research program is built in the field. These are hands-on agricultural research roles involving field trials, research nurseries, planting, pollination, crop evaluation, data collection, harvest, seed processing, equipment operation, and related seasonal work.
Compensation:
FRT I: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
FRT II: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Overtime eligible
Multiple full-time positions available.
ZANGGER POPCORN HYBRIDS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Zangger Popcorn Hybrids offers scholarship opportunities to students from the surrounding local area, including Ord, Central Valley, Burwell, Loup County, Sargent, and Arcadia. Eligible applicants may include graduating high school seniors planning to continue their education, as well as current college students who intend to return to work at Zangger Popcorn Hybrids.
SCHOLARHIP ELEGIBILITY, REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS:
- Must work for 3 weeks between June 1 - August 10 or during nursery/detasseling season to be eligible.
- Scholarship payout after proof of full time enrollment and a minimum of a C avg (2.0 GPA) is achieved for each semester.
- Eligible to earn the scholarship every year of college you are in full-time status (max 4 years).
- Ability to make hourly wages while also receiving tuition assistance.
- Opportunity for area students to return home for the summer, which allows us to retain experienced workers.
